Homeless Breakfast
This ministry feeds about a 150 people every third Sunday of the
month. We provide a basic meal which includes grits, toast, turkey
sausage, and scrambled eggs. Every winter we work with Peninsula Baptist
church to provide warm clothing like coats, scarves, gloves, and socks.
This is a wonderful ministry that really does bless many people. We are
always looking for volunteers to help as this is never a lack for
things to do. This ministry takes place at the corner of 9th and Market
in downtown Tacoma.
Prison Ministry
Every first Friday Brent, Corey Millard, and David Millard travel to
Aberdeen, Washington to the Stafford Creek Correctional Center. This
prison houses over 2000 prisoners and we minister to around 30 men who
attend a Messianic Pro-Torah service. We continue our contact with these
men by sending the Shabbat handout every week and this portion of the
ministry is handled by Kathy Dixon and Alice Dunn. This year we will be
attending the Twin Rivers Prison in Monroe, Washington every third
Friday as there is a small Messianic fellowship that meets there as
well. We have room for any man that wants to help to come along with us
and participate in this expanding ministry.
DuPont Fellowship
We continue to minister with and alongside the DuPonst Fellowship.
This community of faith meets in different homes within the DuPont area
and they have come alongside of Beit Tefillah on several ministry
projects. This year the DuPont fellowship moved to helping the Second
Sunday portion of the Homeless Breakfast. Also this year we members of
Beit Tefillah have teamed up with the DuPont fellowship to provide water
filters to the people of the Philippine Islands. Throughout the year
people from Beit Tefillah have attended home fellowships in DuPont and
the DuPont believers have fellowshiped at Beit Tefillah. We look forward
to more ministry partnership with DuPont in the coming years.
Anderson Island
Every month Brent heads to Anderson Island to support the work of
pastor Steve Wolffe and the Anderson Island Christian Fellowship. This
church has recently built a new ministry facility on the island and
looks to do more with the people of Anderson Island in the coming years.
Pastor Steve has embraced the Hebraic Roots of the faith and continues
to provide teaching to his congregation that reflects Hebraic Roots.
This past year pastor Steve traveled to Israel and learned much in that
trip to confirm his beliefs in the need to understand the Scriptures
through Jewish eyes.
Russian Ministry
During this past year on several occasions people from the Messianic
Russian community of Bellevue, Washington attended services at Beit
Tefillah and we at Beit Tefillah attended Erev Shabbat services with the
Russians in Bellevue. Pastor Vitali Olniik is a native Russian and
ministers to several Russian communities within the Pacific Northwest.
If you would like to attend a Russian service sometime please let Brent
know and he can provide you with details. We look forward to an ongoing
partnership and support of our fellow Russian believers in the coming
years.
Military Ministry
This past year people from Beit Tefillah teamed with Cadence
Ministries to provide meals to soldiers at Fort Lewis Military Base.
Cadence is a worldwide Christian ministry that works exclusively with
Military personnel at every major Military Base. Each of these meals
that we provided gave us access to dozens of young men and women in the
military that need to hear about Yeshua. This ministry provides anyone
that wants a means of supporting the men and women of our military that
serve their country. We are looking forward to doing several more meals
this coming year as this ministry is extremely rewarding.
El Shaddai Ministries
This past summer Brent taught a Biblical Hebrew language class at El
Shaddai with over 140 students in attendance. This year we are
partnering with El Shaddai to bring in several guest speakers as El
Shaddai has a large facility and the marketing network needed to impact
our area. We look to working with El Shaddai in the coming years as they
are getting the message of Hebrew Roots out to the mainline Christian
Church. Throughout the year El Shaddai brings in guest speakers and
musical artists from around the world that we can benefit from at Beit
Tefillah.
Torah Club
Every Tuesday night from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm we focus on the Torah at
Round Table Pizza in Gig Harbor. This year we are using Torah Club 6
from First Fruits of Zion which is focusing our attention on the book of
Acts and the Epistles. Everyone is welcome to attend Torah Club as the
relaxed atmosphere allows us to explore the Hebraic Roots of our faith
during the week with fellow believers.
Hebrew Class
Every Sunday night from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm we study Biblical Hebrew
language at Immanuel Celebration Church located at 9244 Pacific Avenue,
Tacoma, WA, 98444. This class focuses our attention on learning Biblical
Hebrew and is open to anyone who wants to learn the language of the
Hebrew Scripture.
Care Net
Care Net is a Christian based ministry that provides full service
help to women of all ages that desire to keep their unborn baby. This
ministry provides women who think abortion is their only option with the
tools to keep their baby or place their baby up for adoption. Beit
Tefillah has supported this ministry as this ministry is doing the right
thing the right way. There are four Care Net Centers in the Pierce
County area where women can call or visit right off the street. For the
past two summers the ladies of Beit Tefillah have teamed up with a Grace
Presbyterian Church of Gig Harbor to provide a baby shower for young
ladies that have decided to keep their baby.
Moedim (Biblical Feasts)
Every year Beit Tefillah celebrates the Biblical feasts on the
Biblical calendar given to us by HaShem. These annual cycle of appointed
times allow for us to reach out to unbelievers and fellow believers and
use these teaching moments to expand peoples thinking on their need for
salvation and the Lordship of Yeshua. We will continue to invite anyone
that wants to attend these feasts throughout the coming year as we have
seen how these feasts educate and open people to the Torah.
